I have owned the Epson 740 for approximately 2 years. I would recommend it to ANYONE! The price for this model has dropped drastically since I purchased mine because of the newer and "supposedly" better models that followed it.

I had a small home business printing return address labels, birthday party invitations, notecards and stationery for about a year. I can't tell you the number of satisfied customers I had that were amazed that I did not have a "professional" printer.

This printer is suited for the average user. The colors are bright and crisp. I have printed photographs taken with a digital camera on the photo paper that came with my printer and honestly you have to look very closely to know that it was not a photograph developed from film.

The speed isn't the best compared to some of the others out there, but having also purchased the next step up, an Epson 800, I can tell you that faster isn't always necessarily better. The quality put forth from the 740 is FAR better than the 800.

If you are looking for a printer to make some nice greeting cards with all the wonderful software on the market today, or print your own business cards or address labels or just need a printer for the kids to print out their "art work" this is definately one printer you should seriously consider.

The software is simple to install and any updates to the printer drivers are always available free of charge from the Epson site. The customer service is phenomenal. They go OUT OF THEIR WAY to help you. Unfortunately my first 740 died before its time but only because I worked it like a bull. A couple calls to Epson and not only did they honor the warranty on my printer, but they OVERNIGHT delivered a brand new printer to me and ordered a pick up of the old one. I didn't have to lift a finger...except to sign for my new printer!

So with a great company backing you, my opinion is that you just can't go wrong with the Epson Stylus Color 740 printer.
