Still the right direction

Pros:Size
Cons:none

I have to say that as soon as I saw this organizer back in '98 I had to have it. It was during a phase in my life where I was trying to minimize the amount of stuff I carried around, while still not cutting the technology cord. This little organizer which synchs via my laptop pcmcia slot has been riding in my pocket along with my credit cards and money clip for two year straight now.
I never expected to have the input feature, and I really don't need it. My solution has been to carry an extra supply of blank business cards inside the handy leather case; on these I write any information I come across, and once a week (sometimes more) I just enter it into my Microsoft Outlook. I was able to find a pencil that fits in the spine of the leather case, and it has not scratched or disturbed the screen so far.
Now that I lug around a WAP enabled cell phone (see my review at http://www.epinions.com/./elec-review-B5A-9630BD4-396180D9-prod4 ) I am looking for a service that replaces my REX. None so far. And on top of that, I will need to find a place for my credit cards.
Regarding the software that came with the REX, it was a bit lacking, but it did tide me over until I downloaded the software that allows me to synch with outlook.
When waiting for trains or buses I would be able to read some books that I had converted into text files and uploaded as memos. This was invaluable, especially with my own personal files that I would create to help me study for exams etc. There is no limit to the uses of the memo feature.
The form factor was the biggest selling point for me, and it still is today, nothing smaller has come out. I was looking for adequate functionality in an attractive package, and that is what I found with the REX. The interface is not too bad either.
A bit dated, but I will be a fan of the REX, and I look forward to seeing future technology using the same pcmcia form factor. (when is the mp3 player going to make it out!?) That would be ideal.
