I tried my first PC telephony program about three years ago and was excited to know that I could talk to someone all the way in Europe for free. Most people I would have like to talk to did not have a computer or maybe internet access and so I left this quest off for a few years. I responded to an AD and decided to try Net2Phone -at least I expected a better quality since I had to pay this time. I was very disappointed in the service but I had already made my credit-card deposit and according to the contract this was non-refundable.
I still have unused funds in my account and I doubt that I will use it. I was surprised to find other FREE services that was actually so much better than Net2Phone. I think that Net2Phone has a lot of AD dollars -well they have mine at least - and so they are more well known than other companies but the service is by far inferior in my opinion. The quality of the sound is poor and I hated the commitment I had to make even before I could have tried the service.
In addition they charged my account for a microphone headset which I never received -trying to reach them on the 'normal' phone line involved a long wait and a waste of my time -I considered this a mistake and just moved on to better FREE services.
