Mobshop.com (formally accompany.com) uses the power of the masses to leverage great prices on many different products.
For instance, imagine that an item you want retails for $100. The initial price at Mobshop might be $85 if 0-25 individuals purchase it. The price would drop to $80 for 26-200 buyers and drop again to $75 for 201-500 buyers. Everyone who purchases this product at any price level ends up with the lowest price based on how many people buy. So even if you were the first person to buy the item (at $85) if the "buy cycle" ends with 203 buyers you only have to pay $75!
All the products are available to purchase for given amounts of time (i.e. five days) called "cycles" and any cycle might close early if all the items are sold before the cycle time is up.
There are limited product categories to choose from right now. This site mostly caters to the techie with plenty of electronic gadgets, hardware, software, PDA's, etc. Mobshop even offered a cycle of new automobiles at great prices (did the people who bought these put them on their credit cards? who knows...)
The website is easy to navigate with the product categories in a list on the left and a search box above it. There is also a "ticker" on the top right corner of the screen that alerts you to cycles that are closing "today" in green and in "1 hour" in orange. This is a great tool to find some unbelievable deals that have reached their full discounted rate.
The first product I bought was a digital camera at a full 25% less than I have been able to find anywhere else on the web. It was delivered on time and I have been satisfied with the item as compared to it's description on the website.
To top all of this off, Mopshop offers free shipping. Saves you even more!
