We were looking for a product that would allow me to use multiple windows at one time. Friends of ours had computers ranging From Packard Bell to Compaq, I've heard all the woes from all the computers manufacturers.
We decided to check out the EMachine Monster, based of references we had heard.
I checked out all the hard & soft ware, and it seemed to be the ideal computer we needed. It had 500mhz, Pentium 3 Processor and enough memory space for me to add more software. This computer is very well designed for the kid in all of us to play games on their high speed CD Rom. They have their own very well designed short cut keys and locating system. Where you type in a word and searches 5 data banks at one time. It's great.
After a few months,we've had the computer 8 months, we out grew the memory and added 64k more bringing it to a grand total of 128k. The memory chip was very easy to install. Just a few screws from the back and place it in the appropriate holder and the computer did the rest.
The only glitch I have come across with the computer, was re-setting the factory settings, due to Microsoft Office Professional 2000, I guess the computer didn't like it.
This is a great computer we haven't any trouble with.It's taken all the software I've added with no problems and play CD's with great sound quality.
Emachines has a great deal, if your looking for a great Internet Service they have one. When you sign up for 2 years they upgrade your computer for FREE. Most Emachines come with a rebate.
