Pros:Speed, power, user friendly
Cons:A bit on the heavy side

In February I purchased the Dell Inspiron 7000 A366LT with every option available, all the way down to the Defcon Security lock on the Targus backpack, and have yet to be disappointed with this computer. Far from it actually. Even after the sale, the company still actively keeps in touch with me to make sure everything is still AOK. When I originally purchased the laptop, I ordered MS Office 97 SBE with it. I recieved the computer the second week of February, and was very impressed with its ability to run multiple apps at one time. Well, seven months later I check my snail mail, and there is a box in the from Dell. I eagerly opened the package, and low and behold, MS Office 2000 SBE was inside. I never recieved any certificates or notification that this would happen. I called to see if it was a mistake, and they told me not at all, and that is how Dell treats their customers. With my jaw dropped to the floor, I called a friend, and fellow Dell owner, and asked him if this had happened to him. He said no, and the was sure that it had to be a mistake. Well, he called three days later and told me that he just got his MS Office 2000.
As far as the performance of this my laptop, I could not be happier. It has never crashed, or had any problems that I did not directly cause, and when they did occur, I was able to fix them in minutes. I have upgraded to MS Office 2000 Premium to get PhotoDraw 2000, as I am an amateur photographer, and have no problem running it, FrontPage, and Internet Explorer, Instant Messenger, and Outlook all at the same time. The performance and playback on DVD is astounding also, with brilliant color and resolution on the 15" XGA display.
If you are looking to buy a laptop to replace your beige box, look at the Dell's. I can hardly wait to get my hands on the 500 Mhz with the 15.4" display that I plan to order soon.
