Overview
I have just tested the Dell Dimension XPS T600, and I found out that I loved it! It's a Dell, so it has to be good, and with the stuff it comes with it's great. I need a fast computer with good specifications, and this one is right on target!
Good Things
- The Pentium III 866MHz makes my games run really fast, actually that was the best loading time I've ever had! This computer rocks!
- 128MB RDRAM loads my games nice, and the constant refreshing isn't there, so it's a lot smoother doing things that require a lot of RAM.
- 17" Monitor is ok; the colors are nice and clear. Also the screen is very 'crisp' and not much blending between colors.
- 32MB NVIDIA TNT2 M64 4X AGP Graphics Card makes my games look better than they ever have. I have a Voodoo5 5500 AGP and it doesn't even compare to this one!
- SB Live! Sound Card. This makes my games sound realistic. I love the surround sound, but I've got to say that my Aureal 3D Card is better. I can tell a slight difference between the two, being the Aureal sounds better, and is more effective for the 3D sound.
- 3Com V.90/56K4 makes my multiplayer games run nicely. It would be even nicer if it came with a cable modem and free access to that for a year, instead of GAY-OL (AOL)
- QuietKey Keyboard is top of the line. The keyboard is very comfortable, and nice to the touch.
Bad Things
- 1 Year of AOL Free isn't good. It's a BAD thing to get AOL, weather it's free or not!
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this computer to anyone who wants to get maximum performance from a PC, for only a little bit of money. This PC is good for games, 3D programs such as 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, etc…
