Works for me!
Some say that eMachines are not the way to go when purchasing a new computer, but let me offer you another opinion. I have owned an eMachines computer since March of 1999, and I am still using it today. It has provided me with an inexpensive way to access the internet, process documents, and play games which is probably what most people use their computers for.
I have upgraded the memory (128Mb) and upgraded the hard drive (13G), but essentially it is the same computer that I started with in 1999. I should mention that I only spent $200.00 for the upgrades, as they were both on sale and offered rebates. I use the 56K modem to access the internet. I play games, and I work on the word processor.
For those of us who don't need to be on the cutting edge of technology, the eMachines option works well. I would not, however, recommend this to the user who does not know the basics about the PC, as the customer support is difficult to contact.
Overall, I give the eMachines brand of computers the thumbs up!
