Pros:so simple, affordable, reliable, feature full
Cons:none
I think this program is so great that I have decided to put up a tutorial that I have written for Adaptec. It is very informative (I hope) and think you will enjoy learning how to use this extremely simple program! If there is anything strange it is because I was about to put this on a web page, but then decided it would be better here. I also believe that by giving you this tutorial it will give you more than any review or opinion ever would because this proves how simple the program is.
Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe is perhaps the easiest program to learn how to use. There are no complicated features for you to worry about. At the first screen when you open up Adaptec you will come to a screen where you can choose what type of CD you would like to create, or a few other options. Below each option is explained in detail.
A. Creating an audio CD
1. First you must click on the button on the left labeled Audio. When the next screen pops up hit audio once more.
2. Next a larger screen should appear. In order to create an audio CD you must either have mp3s or wav files on your computer or have an audio CD already in your computers CD drive. Locate the songs your wish to put on your CD by using the file browser in the top left hand corner of the screen. Drag the files from the file browser onto the bottom half of the screen. Make sure that you watch the meter at the bottom of the screen to see how much space is left on your CD.
3. Once you are finished selecting your songs you can record your CD. To do this hit the create CD button at the top of the screen. The CD Creation Setup screen should pop up. Under the create options make sure Create CD is selected and under write method select Track at Once and Close CD.
B. Creating a Data CD
1. First you must select data on the opening screen of Adaptec.
2. When a screen pops up use the file browser on the top half of the screen to locate the files you wish to write onto the CD. Once you have found them drag the files from the file browser to the bottom half of the screen. Make sure that you watch the meter at the bottom of the screen to see how many megabytes remain on the CD.
3. Once you are finished selecting your files you can record your CD. To do this hit the create CD button at the top of the screen. The CD Creation Setup screen should pop up. Under the create options make sure Create CD is selected and under write method select Track at Once and Close CD.
C. CD Copier
1. First select the CD Copier option on the first screen.
2. This option requires that you have two CD drives installed in your computer. A small screen will come up that requires you to choose which CD you would like to copy and which you would like to write to. This will vary depending on what letter drives your hardware is installed on.
3. Next go to the advanced tab of the CD Copier screen. Make sure that the correct CD recorder speed is selected. You can find out your CD recorder speed by looking in its manual. Also make sure that copy is selected and that Disc-at-once is checked. Lastly hit the copy
button and wait for the CD to finish.
D. Jewel Case Creator
1. To use the jewel case creator first select Jewel Case Creator on the opening screen.
2. Next select format from the top of the screen and move down to change theme. A screen should pop up with a large selection of themes to use. Select which theme you want to use by viewing the preview of it on the right side of the screen.
3. Once you have selected a theme hit ok to return to the main screen. On the left side of the screen go through each part of the jewel case and modify it as you wish. To edit text double click on it.
4. To print you must first set up the printer for whatever type of paper you are using. When the program asks you what paper you use either just say plain paper or if you know what type of paper you purchased especially for jewel cases then enter that. To make changes later you can save by going to file at the top of the screen and selecting save.
E. Creating a Video CD
1. First select the Video or Photo CD option on the opening screen.
2. Next hit the + button on the top of the screen. Using the file browser locate the mpeg file that you would like to put on a VCD. Once you have located the file double click it. If you would like to add more files do the same process.
3. Once you have finished hit the record button and hit ok to start the CD creation process. The CD that you create can be played either on a computer with a CD or DVD drive or on a VCD or DVD player on a TV.
