Bigger, Faster, Better? Yeah, right. Windows 98 SE is slower, clunkier, and more prone to crashing than anything I've used since my Timex Sinclair computer in the early 80's. My system starts slower, has shutdown problems - even after loading the "patch", and is absolutely horrible at supporting any program in DOS that requires any kind of driver. Also, while in Windows 98 SE, I have never seen so many blue screens, not at work on NT, not on Windows 95, not even on Windows3.1. I have since formatted my drive and started clean with the first edition of Windows 98 and my computer (and I) are much happier for it. If you are considering an "upgrade" from Windows 95 or 98 FE - DON'T DO IT.
I almost never return software once I have purchased it, but Windows 98 SE is so poorly constructed, and comes with KNOWN bugs that effect almost everyone, that I feel justified in demanding my money back and having my retailer send it back to Microsoft. Products this poor should simply be rejected by customers.
