| angiehost's Full Review: Creative Labs Sound Blaster PCI |
I just recently installed the Creative Sound Blaster 16 WavEffects card in our computer at work.
Here are some of the features:
* Low-noise audio performance with 16 bit, CD-quality, Stereo recording and playback.
* 20 creative music synthesizer voices, and 32 wave-table software voices simultaneously.
* Supported by thousands of multimedia applications.
* Plug and Play for easy installation
* Surf, communicate and create internet content.
* Full Duplex Support
* 3D Audio Technology
* Stereo Digital Mixer
* MIDI Interface
* Backplate Connectors
* Compatiable with: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, DOS 6.X or higher, Plug and Play, MPC-3, Genuine Sound Blaster, and Microsoft DirectSound.
Now with a product label like that you would think that the Creative Sound Blaster 16 WavEffects would be one terrific sound card.
Don't get me wrong the Creative Sound Blaster 16 WavEffects is a "decent" sound card and does serve the purpose of having a sound card installed. I just wouldn't consider it the greatest and top of the line.
Installing the Creative Sound Blaster 16 WavEffects was fairly painless, and the software installed nicely.
The connectors on the back of the card are color coded which makes it nice for the less expierenced hardware people.
The Creative Sound Blaster 16 WavEffects is fairly reasonable also, it ran around $49.99.
Recommended:
Yes
Amount Paid (US$): 49.99
