Some epinions:Jan 20 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I am not sure if your final goal at epinions.com is to begin product placement and advertising or if you simply want as many hits as possible to your website. If it is the latter, one thing you need to encourage is community. The fact that I have written 3 articles in one subject should become the rule rather than the exception. While you have featured reviewers, this is perhaps something you should stress even more. You should elevate some of the more prolific or successful writers to celebrity status to really get a following. Personality and style should be as important as content. A more specific suggestion: under each category, such as brokerages, add a thread for "Questions". This creates an open system that could feed on itself. Epinions categories will no longer be limited by what epinions managers can come up with. Everyone with a question can post it and get answers from whoever wants to answer. The question could turn into a category if it is universal enough. In the mean time, the "Questions" category will generate two way traffic for people checking back for their answers. Eventually it could even turn into a Dear Abby format if some members become more well-known advisors. And what about hosting opinions on ideas, political and economic, etc.? :)  |
