| swelt's Full Review: Dell Inspiron 3500 A400GT |
I bought the Inspiron from Dell so that I might carry files from Office to Hospital to home with the greatest flexibility and available services.
The device is wonderful. Except for some occasional glitches with the floppy disk drive ( it doesn't except all the floppies that I have) it is great. i have tried all the peripherals that I can including: Zip drive, CD-Rom, Click cards, CD read-writer etc. It works well with my palm pilot and with the small Canon printer that is the size and weight of a carton of cigarettes.
It is internet ready and I have had no problems getting it on line and going.
Unfortunately, I had to purchase before the new series with the Pentium 3 came on board and my friends tell me that this is a great addition. Also, I did not buy the DVD attachment. One of my colleagues has that and took his Inspiron on a recent flight to Hawaii and was able to see his own music videos and movies with the DVD insert in place.
I am not going to allow the Inspiron to replace a large desk model, although that would be possible, the portability is the best thing for me. The weight is not great and with a carrying case for each of the peripherals, I can customize what I take where and when.
