What can I say about Ebay besides it is the greatest online auction site that is on the net today!
I have been a member since July 27, 1999. I have been a buyer and a seller. So I pretty much know most everything about Ebay.
Pros of Ebay include:
1)There are a large number of items to buy! More than likely if you need something or want something then it is on Ebay!
2)Many times you can get things for dirt cheap. I have noticed this to be especially true when it comes to high quality baby clothes. There are times when things go way more than they are worth as well.
3)There are now easy ways to pay besides sending a check. They are paypal.com and x.com. Paypal.com I have signed up for and it will transfer money from your account to a seller's paypal account.
4)Proxy bidding. Which in some cases can be a con too! Proxy bidding means that you bid your highest amount and the website will bid against other bidders up to that amount.
5)They have a magazine.
6)Ebay also has a feedback rating so you know in advance if you could get "screwed" by someone!
7)Ebay has an excellent FAQ's area and Customer Support website.
8)You sometimes can view pictures of the items that are up for bids. This is a big + in my book!
9)The biggest PRO of all Bidding is free!!!
Now for Ebay's Cons:
Yes! Everything has to have cons! But the pros outweigh the cons!
1)Ebay is very addicting. Trust me at first I paid a little too much for a few items that I "HAD" to have!
2)The adult items are too easy for people under 18 to get into. All you have to do is click on a site saying you are 18. How dumb does Ebay think young kids are today? So young kids could literally go and buy Adult Material easy as 1-2-3.
3)Proxy bidding can be a pro as well as a con because you can bid so high and then realize later that it was not worth that much! You can always retract your bid, but then beware of NEGATIVE feedback.
Feedback on Ebay tells alot about a person and wether you should buy from them or sell to them. I personally NEVER buy from someone that has any negative feedback unless it is for something really stupid. Watch out that you don't pay more for an item than it is worth: Always think about how much an item is with the cost of shipping in mind. You can think that you are getting a real deal when you are getting hosed with the shipping costs.
Selling on Ebay is fairly easy. There are some small fees. There is a fee to place the auction and an end of auction fee. It is a fairly small amount and goes on the price of the item up for auction. There are other fees to make it fancy and put it in certain categories. I have sold several items and have never had a problem with a deadbeat bidder yet. Most people are real honest and aren't out to get someone.
SO if you are looking for that certain item that you have been looking for awhile then race right over to Ebay and check it out!
Thank you for reading this Epinion!
