I was all gung-ho when I first discovered SixDegrees. I got many of my friends to sign up, and my community grew daily. I remember checking (daily) to watch my connections grow. I all truth it continues to be a great community and resource for some things, I have just lost my enthusiasm. In fact, I haven't been to the site in a while.
Sixdegrees offers chatting interactions. Personalized info you can structure to be revealed as you deem appropriate (to specified levels of connections.) In theory, it's great. You see how small the world really is when you begin to randomly chat with someone and you check to see how "connected" you are. It could be as far away as 12 people, but most likely it will be as close as four! I also found it interesting to surf through my connections to find friends, or people I'd only ever heard of before.
They've also recently began groups of almost sub-communities: such as music group interests, television show watchers, item collectors, and more.
My only complaint is that most of my friends, and myself included, have become tired of the whole site, and moved out and away to others!
