First of all, I would like to say that there are a lot of fake reviews
of that card around the net, most of them saying that is a trash card. But the Voodoo 5 5500 is NOT a bad card.
Maybe there is a lack of details in the card, and the drivers aren't polite enough. But that happens because the card is very new, and the drivers aren't well-finished.

What I would like to say is that maybe the Geforce 2 is faster, but it is not as processor dependant as the Voodoo 5, so, with a good processor, the Voodoo 5 can be a great card.

You just have to wait and you'll see how the Voodoo 5 becomes a excellent card. Just let 3dfx develop better drivers and you'll be able to use the Full Scene Anti-Aliasing at incredible framerates.
It's difficult to get the GeForce 2 to do FSAA with Quake 3 and work.

3dfx has NOT lost the battle.
