| housljoh's Full Review: Vadem Clio C-1050 |
I own a Sharp Tripad (C1000) and a Clio 1050. From day one these units have been outstanding. No other manufacturer has done as great a job as Vadem has done when moving from the 1000 to the 1050 and then treated their 1000 customers greatly. Their Tech Service group is two notches above anyone!
I have used my 1050 for wireless network connectivity, internet and email access from all over the world, printing at hotels, making presentations using the Voyager card to large audiences using a "light box". I have charged the unit with a cigarette lighter adapter on intercontinental flights. I can play mp3 files, video files, digital pictures, games, and it goes on and on. To top it off, I can take a days worth of handwritten notes and sketches at meetings and then email them to everyone in the meeting before they catch their plane home.
Imagine sitting in a meeting and remembering you need two more slides for the presentation you have got to give in one hour. Wirelessly email your assistant and like magic, the two slides you needed come back in 15 minutes.
I have travelled extensively using a laptop. The Clio can do most all essential tasks a laptops can. For 90% of the business population a Clio should be just the ticket for a heck of a lot less than the more expensive Dell, IBM, or Sharp laptops. It is amazing that so many IS managers have shunned the Clio in favor of Palm units and expensive laptops.
