Delete them all! Let Outlook sort'em out!!
Jun 21 '00
You open Outlook or Outlook Express and 20 messages pour in! 4 of them are addressed to undisclosed.recipient@who_gives_a_filp.com, 4 of them are addressed to person that sent it to you, 1 of them are addressed to elvis@graceland.com and 1 is addressed to fatburner1209182341812@mail.com.
This is just out of control. It does no good to reply with remove or to use their remove link. This only gives them your real E-mail address and invites more junk mail. I even have seen spam mail that said that the only way I could remove myself from their E-mail list was to call their toll free number! Yeah Right!! Or you add it to the junk mail list and the next time you still get the spam because they have added a 1 to the end of their sending address and you play cat and mouse for about two weeks until your finally give up at number 24.
So what do I do? I just use the rules wizard in Outlook or Outlook Express. I set up a rule that will delete all incoming messages, and then I add an exception to not delete mail addressed to my real, exact e-mail address.
Be warned though, when you sign up for newsletters at some sites they will be address to undisclosed. So you keep your eye on your deleted folder for a week or so. If you see one that you wanted to keep, you just create an exception for that newsletter.
I used to have a rules list to delete junk/spam mail that was 23 different rules. Now I have one rule with 3 exceptions and I never have to look at junk/spam mail.
