My opinion on the card is surprising. I was expecting a performance increase over my current video card (nVidia TNT RIVA128,16 meg RAM, AGP) and I got an increase. The increase was so incredible it should hardly be a comparison between the two cards. After installing the 3Dlabs drivers (in Win98 and Windows 2000) I set up and ran 3D studio, trueSpace 4, and Nichimen Mirai. I could not believe my eyes! The real-time manipulation of color and textures in trueSpace 4 is enough to warrant buying the card, at least I know I will. After the experience I have had with 3Dlabs video cards and the stable drivers, I am now an advocate for 3Dlabs in all things of a graphic nature. Just for fun, I popped in a couple of my favorite games and was very pleasantly rewarded with smooth graphics and realism that I had not experienced previously. All in all the Permedia3 Create! is a great card for the professional, entry to mid range designer, as well as the gamer.
