| waynejeff's Full Review: Smart and Friendly CD Recorders |
I own a Speedwriter Plus. The drive did a great job at first. It did not create one coaster out of numerous burns. However, the drive failed within 4 months. It was extremely difficult to get tech support for an RMA. After finally receiving a replacement drive (same chassis, new guts) it burned one CD and died.
I have been unable to contact S & F by voice. Their phone system will route you somewhere around behind the building in a dark alley where you sit twiddling your thumbs for exactly 10 min. You are then routed to voice mail where a kind voice gently tells you to pi$$ off and get your support from there web site...thanks for calling...bye. As instructed, I attempted to load the Web Site but it was apparently down for several days...hmmm. I finally get the web page up...by now I am thinking, "hmmm maybe they haven't gone bankrupt after all." I go to the e-mail link to send the Tech Support boys an e-mail...uh..make that 3 e-mails within 2 weeks and have yet to get a response.
I suspect they are having much difficulty and would therefore stay as far away from an S & F as geography will allow.
