Having a hard time finding a Laptop?
Mar 07 '00
There are tons of notebook computers out there, but the Thinkpad iseries 1400 certainly is a top ten competitor when you consider the value. I've been using the laptop for about six months now, and I plan to stick with the same basic model when I upgrade.
It is fairly lightweight, and better yet I have had no problems with it whatsoever since I bought it. No freezing of the screen; no booting glitches; and even after dropping it (not suggested), it didn't show any wear or tear.
It was suggested to me by the head of a University computer department, and for $1200 (even less if you get it with a special deal), I would highly suggest it.
The only complaint I have is that the batter doesn't last very long, but what battery does last long these days? It's easily rechargeable, and it's so little hassle to recharge that I don't notice usually.
