Have you ever seen wonderful graphics, and wondered how in the world they do that? If creating beautiful graphics seems appealing to you, then dive right in to Paint Shop Pro. Even though nothing is as easy as it looks, you can still learn and achieve great graphics with this program.
What is it?
It's a program designed to easily help people make graphics. The program is made by Jasc Software Inc. It is very reasonably priced compared to other graphic programs, so price and ease are reasons what the program has become so popular. PSP contains the tools you will need to paint, edit, and retouch your images, and a browser to help manage your files.
What can I do with it?
There are many, many features of this program. Some of the basics include image distortion, which is anything from twisting the center like a vortex to making the image look like it's sitting in a puddle of water. It also contains many effects including inner bevel (make images, especially text, look 3-D in appearance) and a kaleidoscope that is really cool for abstract backgrounds. This program also has some very powerful features including: using and implementing layers into an image, image processing, which means changing the color channels, etc., and creating your own filters. There are also really cool tubes that come with the 6.01 version, and you can also make your own.
Recommended?
Definitely. The only thing that PSP cannot do is create slices like Photoshop, and turn them into Javascript. It also doesn't have very many filters that colorize to combined colors, like a rainbow. It has the colorize feature that does one color and the paint bucket that does radial, sunburst, linear, and rectangular gradients, but only in spaces where one color is present. It doesn't apply a filter to the whole image. Other than that, it is a great product at a great price. There are many more advantages that I didn't list, because then I'd be here all day. Don't pass up this opportunity!
