| balencia's Full Review: IBM Aptiva 801 PC |
No one makes better hardware than IBM. No one! My brother and sister and my self are data processing professionals. All of us have Aptivas. When my elderly mother wanted a machine, I insisted she purchase an Aptiva. It has worked just fine for the last 5 years, and last December she purchased her second Aptive, still no problems. Many of my friends are also in data processing. The machines they special ordered have had problems or completely broken down after 3-4 years, my family's Aptivas keep right on plugging.
I have found that when you purchase from an ibm distributor, you get the parts you pay for, something that unfortunately is not always true with non-IBM products. My fiance is not computer literate, he has had no trouble using this PC. The only thing I have had to do to it is enlarge the drive. Other than that it is just fine.
The only thing I would change is the speakers, they are kind of tinny. Also, buy the large monitor.
