Maybe it is because McAfee Scans to much of the file or something but it slows my PentiumIII 833 down to a crawl. It does thoroughly clean though it is a decent scanner to have but not a constant background scanner. It eats up too much resources and slows your computer almost to a halt. When I try running ICQ and Winamp at the same time with the background scanner running Winamp skips and ICQ takes forever to open and send messages. This is not cool. I also don't like the screens to set it up or when scanning. They are very confusing for a novice user. I now run Norton Antivirus 2000. Much better and does not slow your computer at all. So if you are looking for a good scanner I suggest Norton Antivirus 2000 not McAfee.
