I first checked out Ebay when a friend told me I could find pieces to add to my corn collection. I have been hooked ever since. Not only have I added to my collection, but I have found a lot of stuff to add to my husbands Kiss (the rock band) collection, as well as some unique and unusual items for other family members.
I think everyone I know collects something or is looking for something that stirs childhood memories. Ebay is the place to find it. Just type what your looking for in the search box and you are bound to pull up something.
I personally have never had any bad experiences on Ebay. Everyone I've purchased from have been nice and delivered a great product. One time I waited 2 months for a CD, but I eventually got it. Ebay's feedback system is a good and bad thing. I've never had to leave negative feedback and thankfully never received. I have heard that people use feedback as a revenge tactic and leave negatives for no reason. Ebay needs to find a way to control that.
I have sold some things on Ebay. Just testing the waters before I decide to do it full time. A lot of people make a living selling on Ebay. There are always disputes about shipping and handling and what not. Again I have not had that problem buying or selling. Ebay does require a small fee for selling (25 cents for a general listing and a low % of what you make).
Some other aspects of Ebay to check out are the Giving Board, the Ebay newsletter and the collections. You'll find a lot of good going on at the Giving Board and meet a lot of nice people.
Overall, Ebay is great. I've checked out some of the other auction sights and wasn't as impressed. Although Amazon does credit card payments for the buyer/seller.
Go to Ebay, check it out, you just might find what you have always been looking for!
