The Twin Turbo Porsche of Computers. Get my drift this computer is fast. The new Pentium 4 Gateway 1400 computer is anything you want it to be….Well Within Reason.
It features The new Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor @ 1400MHz
Only a select few of computer have the new chip and only a handful of other computer have the possibilities of going over 1 ghz. You thought your 850mhz computer was fast and decked out well think again. Basically with the new Pentium 4, Speeds have never been reached before are now possible. You can Burn a CD in literally 5 minutes. Print out that important document in less than 15 seconds. I could go on but why.
With 128MB RAM you can not run out of memory. If you wanted to you could have UNREAL TOURNEMENT GOING ON, ALONG WITH your collage essay, and have a movie going on as well.
I do recommend that you upgrade this for the additional low price. Better to deck it out to 256 Though. Better bang for the buck.
40GB. 40 gigs is a lot of space. You & your entire family's software couldn't go over this much memory. Clearly it is almost impossible to run out of storage space. Did I mention that is a Ultra ATA 100 Hard Drive. Ultra is the best in the business right now so Gateway new their stuff when putting together this computer.
16X/40X DVDROM 16 speed DVD possibilities and a 40X cd rom. The dvd makes movies crystal clear and the sound quality is amazing. The DVD Player makes it seem like your watching a high quality movie though a hdtv. Of course along with the DVD/CD Rom there is the 3.5 floppy Drive. Where would we be with out this.
I’m really disappointed in the choice of Gateways selection on the video card. NVIDIA™ GeForce2 MX. I expected more. Although the graphics are great in every way. I feel they could have really done better with this. The new Voodoo Graphics cards are much better than the NVIDIA. So all you gamers out there make sure you change the Graphics accelerator.
Is there a symphony in the house. Nope just SoundBlaster Live! Audio with Boston Acoustics BA735 Speakers and a subwoofer. The sound is enlightening and superbly clear. Cause remember the audience is listening.
Now for the nitty gritty. While this computer is super fast and there is no doubt about that. It is also reasonably priced. At $2000 That is a minor price to pay for what you get. I feel that Gateway left out some important features like a cd-rw which almost every teenager uses these days. Also The monitor is 17" but I think that if your going to buy this comp. Get the Flat screen as well. Save some desk space. Other factors in choosing this model over some other brands is Gateways one year of AOL free with your new Pentium 4.
Before I forget Gateway has one of the best extended warranty programs in the market. If you ever have a problem with your computer they have on-site service. The three year extended warranty really is a bonus when you invest so much money into a computer. Well in conclusion get this computer if your looking for that perfect gift for a loved one, or need a new computer for a kid that’s going to collage. You won’t be disapointed.
