I like my IBM thinkpad I-series 1472 model..

I bought an IBM thinkpad after some careful research that went into comparing Sony, Dell, Compaq and IBM. I was able to look at the models for 3 of these manufacturers since Dell does not have its models available for display in stores. I found Dell to be pricey but I've heard that their service is very good. Sony wasn't doing a good job when it came to using the laptop for multimedia apps. My choice got narrowed down to Compaq and IBM and they were very close in features. Eventually, after talking to others and verifying IBM's reputation for building sound hardware, I made the decision to settle for an IBM thinkpad.
The notebook is awesome and the TFT display is bright and crisp - other folks in my MBA class were simply envious when they saw the system. IBM did have a rebate of $ 100 and Costco had this on sale. I've played DVDs and watched the James Bond thriller "Never Say Die" with very good sound and screen display. This is a good laptop and is mid-priced as well. The CD-ROM drive and floppy disk drive are internal and so one doesn't need any attachments.
