Pros: Great price, great performance!

Cons: Doesn't sport the latest technologies in the graphics field.

The i740 chip by Intel is indeed one of my favorites. You get performance, compatibility and affordability. When I first bought a card with the i740 I was going for a semi-nice video card for the best price I could get. What I got was a card that while running on an AMD K6-2 400 processor performed remarkably well in such games as Quake 3. If you want a cost effective solution to upgrading your 2-4mb video without spending a hundred dollars or more then go with this card. You can usually find a card sporting the i740 chipset with 8 and 16mb of video memory on the card itself. The card will usually run you ~50USD. This is a perfect addition to building an affordable yet mid-high performance computer.
