I purchased the Philips CDRW so I could burn my own music CDs. While it is a little bit more expensive than some of the other models it was well worth it. The software that it comes with is easy to use. You don't have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to use the darn thing. When creating your own music CDs, you are free to mix and match your favorite songs from different CDs.
The great thing about the Philips CDRW is the user-friendly interface which greatly simplifies the process. The only downside to this product is that it takes around 45 minutes to burn a single CD. Although it reads the information off the CD in about 5 minutes, the recording part takes 9 times as long. In comparison to the competition this is not at all bad. Right now the Philips CDRW is one of the fastest CD recorders for home PC use. In the future the technology will greatly speed up the recording time but it still is well worth it for the opportunity to create your own customized music collection.
