mIRC - An Indispensable Downloading and Chatting Resource

Internet Realtime Chat has been very useful to me ever since I learned how to use it. For computer beginners, the complicated interface of mIRC may seem intimidating, but it really is pretty easy after a couple days of experimenting with it.
I first downloaded the mIRC program for the sole reason of downloading and sharing mp3's with other users. But now I use it for downloading just about everything. Common easy downloads off of mIRC are VCD's, games, mp3's, movies, and applications.
If you are a movie lover, simply enter a chat room like "Movies" and you will immediately have an infinite number of current movies, even movies out in the theatre, available for your download.
If you are a game lover like me, simply enter a chat room like "Games" and you will immediately have every game imaginable at your disposal. I also like to download graphics programs, web page editors, and screensavers.
The cons of mIRC are that many users require an upload ratio in order to be able to download their files. Another con is that sometimes there is a lot of copyright violation with software. For me, the download speed does not seem to be a problem. The file transfers seem to go really fast. The main disadvantage of mIRC is it's popularity. Since there are so many users wanting files, I many times find it frustrating when I am put on a lengthy download queue list, which makes it a long process to get the desired files.
Overall, mIRC is an amazing resource to have. I'm glad I came across it and especially that it's free.
