I bought this card to hook up to a Roland VS-880EX Hard Drive recorder.
For that function the digital I/O feature is excellent. I also notice that my 1st person shooter games ran faster because the card does alot of processing to take the load off of the system's processor.
Any musician that does any music related work on their computer would love this card. I don't like the software package that comes with it. I use a program called DDClip for multitrack recording in my PC. It allows for 32 tracks of .wav files to be mixed and processed into a final mixed down demo.
My choice was determined by price. In hind sight I think I made an excellent decision. The company stopped making this card for reasons I do not know. I hope they come out with a similar model to replace it.
If you can get one of these.....Get it!
For Gamers this card is great for it's 5th speaker output and digital output capabilities. It also has the capability of processing Reverb and Chorus effects onboard without software simulation. I'm not sure why this card isn't the hottest card on the market.
Last but not least there's the fact that the card is actually 2 cards. Usually when 2 cards have to be connected the company gives you this pathetic little cable to connect the 2 devices together. That usually requires the devices to have to be in adjoining slots. This is bad when you have a tower full of stuff. In order for me to make this card work I needed them to be about 4 slots away from each other. Well fortunately Turtle Beach thought ahead and shipped this with a six inch or so internal cable. Gotta love it!
I'm hooked!
