Sit back. relax. We all have a certain amount of stress that we can handle. We all deal with so much at our workplaces, and we al deal with it driving home, paying eh bills, and just getting into bed at night can be torture... <sigh> we don't need anything else. So, when Compaq comes along, we all are happy, right?
Wrong.
They are some stressful monkeymachines.
First of all, they use proprietary stuff. Only Compaq can upgrade. I work as a computer tech, and let me tell you, more compaqs come in than anything. I wouldn't mind working on them so much, if they worked in the first place. There's far too many little "extra" programs. It's like giving you a gun, and stating, "Please, don't shoot it. We give you bullets, but don't shoot". When will people learn?
One major problem with them is the fact that they bog themselves down. They have all these programs that they use for this that and the other, and it's hard for any computer to deal with it. The neat little features that come with a compaq do not outweigh the performance. Performance is the key, and since they can't do so, they are really bad. The software would be decent, if it ran the software one piece at a time, instead of starting them up EVERY time. geez, Compaq, give us a choice... They're really good for computer newbies. It's really easy to figure one out. At first. When it starts screwing up, take it to your local tech... after that, you can better believe that your compaq will continue to present a problem.
