Bloody Roar II from Hudson Software is one of many Teken Style Fighting Games to come out in recent years. This Mild Blood, No weapons game has added an extra level of play with the addition of the 'beast' persona for each charecter. So every player has twice as many moves and defenses as in a standard fighting game platform. This makes the play move very fast and the two player mode very competitive. And since your 'beast' can be lost in a match and you have to earn it back, the difficulty is also raised.
The hit combinations and special moves differ vastly from charecter to charecter so the replay value is fairly high. The game Offers several diffirent play modes ranging from arcade style to custom and includes a practice mode that is a lot more usefull than most. Bloody Roar II also has a Story mode that allows a little bit of variation from the standard archade style tournament. On the down side, The game does have graduated levels but the skill of the CPU player does not increas that much, only the amount of dammage they cause. This Makes it easy to beat some of the higher level charecters simply by blocking the 'big hit' moves that remove half of your hit points.
All in all, Bloody Roar II is a game that offers you plenty of good charecter controll and moves but may not be on the 'worlds best' lists for video games.
