If you're looking for Image Editing Software and you don't mind poor performance, problems installing, non-existant tech support, no answer to your complaints, rude telephone operators and the realization of the term e-screwed... then this is the product for you.
After receiving MGI PhotoSuite III Platinum Edition as a gift for Christmas I made the mistake of OPENING THE BOX!!! Of course this meant that I broke the seal and now owned the software. But, I figured that the company reputation was strong and support for any problems would be easy. WRONG!!! Installation was fairly easy with the exception that they offered typical and custom installation but never explained which components of the custom were necessary for the program to run. I thought I could figure it out. No problems yet. I installed the entire program (custom installation) and it used a whopping 850 megabytes. Still no problem since I had the storage room. After installation the on-line registration would not work. "Web site not found" No big deal yet. I tried to run the program and all I got was a nice light brown masonry wallpaper that just froze on my machine. OK....so I un-installed and tried to install just the typical. Installed with no problem. But when I tried to run the program....same problem. Just a nice brown screen, locked up computer and no program. Well, I un-installed again. Shut off every program I had running, including, anti-virus, soundcard, modem, you name it...everything. SAME THING AGAIN!!! So I decided to try the homepage and Tech Support. I listed my problem and sent the request for help. After waiting 8 days without a reply I sent another request. Still no reply. I then sent emails to every area on the "Contact Us" list. One week later...still no reply. I decided to call the company direct, pay for the support. I was greeted by such a rude woman who didn't want to know my complaint, wouldn't connect me to any department that might help and insisted that I send my problem by email. I gave up.
I finally sent my last email to them explaining that their Platinum was Lead and now in my garbage. Save yourself some money. Buy from a manufacturer other than MGI.
