| Dreamlet's Full Review: Apple Studio Monitor |
I am on my second Apple 21" studio display monitor. This one seems to have less serious problems than
it's predecessor which had a board fry on it within its first two months of use. This replacement is not
without fault. Every other day it needs to be calibrated to ensure color accuracy- this is normal. It tends to
junk the calibration and switch to the default settings for no apparent reason. At least once a week I have to reoptimize my Mac, re-build my desktops, reset the P-RAM and then attempt the calibration. Usually this
works. It's not a bad enough problem to send this monitor back- but it certainly is an inconvenience.
I would not recommend this product for anyone who has tight deadlines to meet and exacting standards for
color such as 4-color print work and the like. It is a beautiful looking product- gracefully shaped and stylish with a beautiful display when it holds a calibration. I am let down by it's inconsistencies, though, and don't feel it is a good investment for anyone unless they are a collector.
