| jeanjar's Full Review: Compaq Presario 7475 |
The Compaq 7475 is a wholesale club package...CPU & Monitor in one huge box. This comes with a 17" monitor and speakers. The computer itself is a 533mhz/64 mb ram/ 40.0 HD/ CD-RW and DVD.
That is all well and good on paper...but I am only able to find about 37.0 G of hard drive space and when I check the ram - it's showing me only 56....
That is something I will have to check into further...I do expect to get what I paid for.
So far this computer seems to work just fine...all the programs I loaded are working at a much faster speed than I am used to (I was using a 200 mhz/ 24 ram)
There are a bunch of interesting programs that come pre-installed on this model, but don't be looking for your typical references, games and educational software....It only comes with Microsoft Works and Encarta and Money.
So if this is going to be a first time computer purchase than I would suggest putting aside some extra cash for software extras. But if you are like me and already have the software you want...then no problem.
I haven't had a chance to check out the DVD yet, but I am not sure if I would really watch a movie sitting at my desk.
There are shortcut buttons along the top of the keyboard...I've used them a few times...it will take some getting used to, but they are very handy.
I would say that so far...this Compaq 7475 was a great deal considering all that you are getting with it.
