Gateway - NEVER againAug 06 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I sunk more than $4,000 into a Gateway top of the line desktop about two years ago, and believe me, never again. I bought four new computers in the past three months for business and home and bought three different brands - none of them Gateway. Despite their vaulted reputation for customer service, Gateway was a major headache, great disappointment and ultimately a computer that never worked right in the two years I had it. After dozens of hours on tech support phone calls, after visits by multiple service techs to my home office, Gateway finally sent me a replacement for my new computer. It at least worked, but not reliably at any time during the two years I relied on it. You'd think a top of the line computer from a company with a great reputation would be at least satisfactory. Not so. Since then, I can recommend (so far) Micron, Hewlett Packard and Dell, all impressive models.  |
