Gateway to Hell

I bought a Gateway computer in October of '99 and I have had problems ever since. I ordered it online and made sure to print out all the info, what I had ordered, prices, numbers, everything..which i usually don't do. Jump ahead to the day it arrives, I hook it up and what do you know the thing doesn't work. Now I had been waiting for this thing forever, I was so excited..my first computer, and I didn't have it long enough to screw it up myself, so I knew it was not my fault. So I'm mad, but I figure I'll just call them and see if they can explain why I get a stupid blue screen and nothing happens.
So I get the run around for about 3 hours on the phone, nobody knows anything. So I look at my receipt from the box and they sent me Windows 95, and I ordered 98, so that didn't help my mood. Now I don't know anything about the internal workings of computers, but i know what i ordered and that wasn't it. It would not have been such a big deal, but the customer service was slow, unhelpful, confused..i could go on and on. So, long story short, they send me Win 98..still doesn't work, my computer shuts down all the time, I can barely make it through a term paper without the computer showing an error message and freezing up. Believe it or not, I could probably deal with these things in a rational manner if my representative from Gateway would help out, but this person rarely answers my e-mails unless they are threatening, nothing is mailed when I am told it will be and I'm left with this thing which I will be paying for for the next 4 years of my life.
On a positive note...the monitor, keyboard, speakers and printer work perfectly!
