Nvidia continues to surpass 3dfx in the market and in the store. Nvidia's shares went up to about 150 points a share, meanwhile 3dfx's shares can only get up to about 30 points. Nvidia has the trophy there. Another place Nvidia has the trophy is in the store. Nvidia's graphics cards have 16 bit AND 32 bit with the better rendering power than 3dfx. 3dfx only has a 16 bit rendering card. Nvidia's newest video card is the GeForce 2. The GeForce 2 has Per Pixel Lighting and FSAA(Full Scene Anti-Aliasing). Per Pixel Lighting is something you have to see for yourself, go ahead and take a look at nvidia's site. FSAA has the capability to reduce the jaggy edges of the polygonal objects on the screen while playing a game, thus having less need for a low resolution. Another thing, Nvidia is planning to make chips for the Microsoft X-box. Now why did they not choose 3dfx? Because Nvidia is more promising.
