The old saying that you get what you pay for, couldn't be more accurate in the case of the Lexmark 1100 printer. I got this printer as part of a computer package at Best Buy. I was more concerned with the value of the computer than the printer so I didn't do any research about the printer included in the deal.
The best thing I can say about this printer was that it came with a rebate as part of the package.
That aside, this printer has some major problems. The most major problem I encounter (repeatedly) is the paper jamming. This printer has the habit of feeding more than one piece of paper at a time so that about 5 sheets will go through at once and when it's time to print the 2nd page, it jams. You should be able to print something and walk away while it's working. I do not like having to hover over my printer and hand feed it sheet by sheet.
Even when it happens to print without jamming, this printer is painfully slow. Luckily, I don't have to print all that often. If it was something very important I tend to print it at work. The quality of this printer is also not terribly great.
My main reason for writing this epinion is to warn others who are looking to find a reasonably priced printer. I would never have purchased this printer by itself. If you don't print all that much and it's included in a computer package, I would still get the computer since that is the main reason people shop for a package deal.
