Airswitch is a local provider of High Speed ( 100 MBS )fiber optic internet access. At this time you can only sign a petition to get them into your area if you live outside of Utah County( Provo/Orem )are of Utah.
What is available to us that are lucky enough to live in Springville ( fully operational )American Fork ( Partially available ) and Pleasant Grove ( Fully Operational I believe )and North Orem Utah, is the fastest home service 19.95 can Buy!
You have not lived until you downloaded at 1.2 mbs! Now that is not the average speed. What you are able to download at depends more on who your downloading from and not Airswitch. Microsoft and Cnet and ZDnet seem to be the best places to download from , but the average time is still over 40kbs a second from most anywhere.
There are many plans available but the Private IP for the home user is most comman. You get your Private IP and one email for your 19.95 a month. they do have a set up fee but they are constantly running specials so the price for that I am unsure of at this moment. You also get 10 megs of free web space with yoru account. Now comes the best part! For $1 per month you can add a second computer with its own IP. Have 5 computers? Only $5 more per month! Now if you need emails for each of them then it is $1 per email addy but with all the free email programs available it really isn't nessecary as far as I am concerned.
Their customer service has been terrific they know me by my voice now.. :o) Being in Springville where they started I was able to "Enjoy" the growing pains as they worked the bugs out of their system.
I am not much of a writer so forgive me my shortcomings but if you have money set aside to invest keep an eye on airswitch. They should be going public sometime next year.
