I got a Sony VAIO last week. Then I returned it and got another one. Then I returned it and got a Compaq Presario. Here's the story-

Well-written! I've had bad experiences with all of Sony's products. Although I have to say Compaq would not be my next choice... :)

I too have experienced the frustration of the lock-up problem with the Sony Vaio PCG-F630. From the start, the computer just didn't seem to run quite right. Every time I tried to load a program, I experienced some sort of problem. I took it back and exchanged for another and have had fewer problems, but only after spending alot of time with the Sony Tech Staff. After reading Candylee's epinion, I plan on taking this one back as well.
