Service with a smileMar 03 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I have been using a dell computer for a couple of years and have nothing but good things to say about them. The prices are a little higher than some of your other computers out there, but the quality and especially the customer service warrant the higher prices in my mind. I have experienced very little in the way of problems with this computer since I bought it but for this review I am going to focus on one that I did have. Awhile back I downloaded a program and went to install it when the computer crashed on me. It was something in the program that I was trying to install that had caused a fatal error. I couldn't even load windows. I am not a computer genius so I was pretty much lost as to what to do, so I called dell. What followed is the main reason that I will definitely make my next computer purchase another Dell. The representative on the other end of the phone talked me through two hours worth of typing code to get my computer back up and running. He never sounded at all condescending or annoyed as I tried to keep up, and he must have talked to at least three other people to figure out exactly what the problem was. After it was all done he simply asked me if there was anything else I needed and then thanked ME. I mean what was he thanking me for, he just saved my ass and he thanked me. The best part of it all was that it didn't cost me a dime! I know of some computer service help lines that charge by the hour. If you are looking for more than just a generic computer and you want some great quality and features along with the best customer service you can't go wrong with Dell. Two huge thumbs up from me!!  |
