I had just purchased a Compaq Presario 5716 series. It is a 450 MHz, 96 megs of RAM with a built-in zip drive. I have upgraded from a Packard Bell 200 MHz PC. I was under the impression that the 450 MHz would be twice as fast as the 200 MHz. This is not the case. This machine has a few new and interesting features like the zip drive , and upgraded software which all in all is cool. The problem I have is with the speed of this machine. This particular PC seems extremely slow and inefficient . I have run a diagnostic program to see if everything was running properly. Everything seemed to check out all right. I don't really understand why this machine run slow . I do not believe I would purchase another Compaq in the future. Which is really a shame since I like the body style and alot of features.
