Windows Me upgrade

I had gone out and purchased windows me upgrade, I installed it over windows 98 1st edition.Problems, it didn't configure my 2 cdrom drives, one is a scsi, one is an ide,it also didn't configure my zip drive. I could log on to my isp but my browsers wouldn't work. So what I did to make this work: I formatted my hard drive, I did a clean windows me install. booted through windows 98 bootup disk with the Me cd in the drive,then it prompted me for my 98 disk,I put that in, then a few seconds later it prompted me for my Me disk, I had put that back in. Now a fresh clean install. It automatically recognized my scsi cdrom drive my ide and zip drive, it also configured all 3 without clicking a button. I configured my isp, reinstalled my modem drivers, my sound card drivers and video drivers. It worked fantastic. it boots quicker defragments much quicker scandisks quicker no more blue screens. Its been rock solid.The restore feature is great also, I had to restore my computer to a previous date and it worked great, no problems. I highly recommend windows Me only if you do a clean install.
