I've tried out a few webpage makers since I've been online. Most of them either were too difficult or too restrictive. Then I tried Homestead. I can say without a doubt that Homestead is the best website building I have ever seen.
Many website builders are extremely difficult to use. They don't have adequate help and are unorganized. Some are almost too easy to use. They don't give support to any features that we would consider standard. Homestead is the perfect mix between the two. It offers a drag-and-drop interface. What you see is what you get. There are so many features that I don't know where to start. Guestbooks, stats, polls, HTML support, elegant interfaces, 16 MB of free disk space, and some advanced options that you can't find anywhere else. They even have a section on their builder where you can sign up to be an affiliate for other companies and earn commissions! Their statistic summaries are accurate, useful, and, best of all, free. You can select templates for various pages, or you can build your own with a special motif. You can download the SiteBuilder or run a Java applet from the web.
I have known many sites to restrict HTML or not include it at all. But Homestead has great HTML support. I haven't had any problems with it at all. Since their drag-and-drop interface is so useful, I don't really have to use it to put advanced features on my web site. Also, Homestead doesn't put any of those annoying banner ads on your website. You can edit your site from any computer.
There's only two problems with this service. First, loading the website editor online is slow. It takes about a minute. You only have to load it once for each visit to the site, but it does get annoying. Finally, I had a problem saving a page as index.html so I put my page as main.html
I encourage you to check out my website at http://Seanster7.homestead.com/Main.html to see how it works. Then take a look at another page made by Expage or GeoCities. Even though my website isn't great, it really makes those other sites look pathetic.
