I needed a replacement sound card and a friend brought over an IO Magic PCI card.
I'd had a huge problem with an IO Magic video card previously, and their customer "support" doesn't exist. However, I was stuck, so I installed the card.
Everything went down hill from there. I won't give all the grisly details, but the "help" I got was canned email telling me they'd get back to me in several days.
I wrote back and said that was unacceptable. I got the same email as before, with a snarky PS that showed someone was actually looking at incoming support requests.
I just threw this card out and got another brand, which worked. Three weeks later, I still hadn't heard from IO Magic.
As far as I can tell, their stuff is junk and their attitude stinks. Maybe someone there was having a bad day and I got lucky, but they seem to be a combination of arrogant, lazy and stupid.
Keep it in mind when shopping for stuff.
