The entire Aptiva line, while hard to find these days, is a powerhouse for the dollar. There are cheaper systems out there but they aren't good deals. The 801 isn't as upgrade-able as the Pentium and Athlon models that IBM makes but why pay for so much more than you need? There is room to add in a CD burner, DVD, or Zip drive (a burner is definitely the best buy there!). There is also room for another hard drive. The base software package is outstanding and will leave you needing little else to run your home office and/or personal system. Awesome system!
