I have 2 computers in my house and a storage shed full of parts. I usually
build my own. I have over the years learned a great deal about computers. When my friends wants to buy one i am usually the first person they call. Well one of my coworkers wanted me to suggest a computer for here and she told me what she wanted to spend. Nothing over $800.00!! These days its not uncommon to be able to buy a computer for that amount. So I did some research.
First I ask her where she was gonna put the computer and did she have a desk. She has a small apartment and a small child. In her apartment she had a small area that looked like a desk and would be strong enough to put a computer monitor on. The problem with the area is whe you put the tower under the desk area you had very little space for your feet, and since she was renting she could not put holes in the top.
Well I remembered a computer I had saw on the TV and told her about it.
It was called a E-tower. She did not have the space for a full size computer and and the money for a laptop this seemed a good choice. We went to Office Depot to have a look. It was a real nice looking computer very modern in style, and everything was in the one case. All you had to do was
hook up a telephone line to it connect the keyboard and mouse and plug it in. It does not get easier than that. She had planned to use it for the Internet and school. After coming home and looking at all the all in one computer out there. I found that most have either a 400mhz or 500mhz Celeron processor. The storage space was about the same and most had a all in one motherboard with shared Video. I told her I felt for the price it would be a great deal. So she went back to but it.
About a month went past and she call me up to tell me that the computer was great. She hasn't had any problems with it. I had to go and check it out. It was a nice system the 15 inch screen is nice and the speed was for her needs just right. Its 6.4 meg hard drive was not even close to being full. She does not play games but I brought along a putt putt game and let her try it. The game played fine. I did explain the some games want work well cause of the graphic card but she did not care about that. I feel she got a great deal for a very nice computer.
Now who would I suggest to buy this computer.
1 From a young child to a high school age young adult as long as there need are not the memory hungry games they have out there today.
2 For the dorm at college it great for space and not as costly as a laptop.
3. For the person getting there first computer for internet use and home use.
Who would I tell not to buy the computer.
1 The gamer guys and girls would not want this one it would not give you the performance you would want in a gaming computer. If your a gamer you probally already no this.
2 The person that want to upgrade there computer every 6 months. You can improve some thing but I would recommend to leave it as is.
If I wanted to buy a simple computer I would buy this one. In fact my wife is wanting one now since she saw that one in action.
