| seagull5's Full Review: Dell Dimension XPS T600 |
I have owned both a Packard Bell 166 and a Gateway G6333.I went for a Dell XTS T600.I can only base my opinion on my experience on the equiptment, tech support and customer support I have recieved.
The Packard Bell purchase was a mistake. My mistake for NOT doing my research and letting a sales person lead me in the direction that only benefited him....(Circut City)....I took an $600 loss (sold the computer) ate my pride and ordered a Gateway G6333. To be fair it has been well supported and I still own the computer only after the system has basicially rebuilt over time.If I depended on my computer to run a business I would have been in trouble as it takes 5 to 7 days to get a replacement part. But Gateway does send them without much hassle anb you will learn quite a bit about
installing hardware and after awhile can reformat blindfolded.Customerservice is extremely difficult to reach.
The Dell organization has been first rate from the ordering processes, tech support and customer service. The computer is very well built and benchmarks extremely well..The replacement parts have been sent overnight.Hold times on the phone are short. The web support is the best I`ve seem.
I tried to order a another Gateway....they kept me waiting 5 and a half weeks so I cancelled and ordered the Dell.Dell had a machine built and shipped in 5 days. They know how to do business and they will definately
have my business again...
